Structure
My goal is to cultivate a strong foundation in students by teaching them essential skills while inspiring a passion and deeper appreciation for classical repertoire or any other musical genres they wish to explore.

My lessons focus on 3 main aspects:

  1. Building Finger Flexibility
This involves practicing scales learned in previous lessons, with beginners typically learning one new scale each week. At the start of each lesson, I ask my students to play scales to strengthen their technique and finger agility.

  2. Repertoire and Sight-Reading
I work on pieces selected collaboratively with students. The students spend a few minutes to sight-reading before they play the piece. This approach helps students get a general understanding of the piece’s structure and sound. Developing sight-reading skills early on is crucial as it reduces stress during performance and allows the student to focus on the music’s overall structure.

  3. Wrap-Up and Questions
Before concluding the lesson, I review any challenging passages with the student, ensuring they understand how to correct and practice effectively at home. I always encourage students to ask questions.

First lesson - What to bring?

I kindly request new students to print the handout I provide and obtain a music staff book before our first lesson. All you need to bring is a curious mind—everything else will follow!
